ANKLE SPRAINS IN MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIOThere are a number of injuries that can befall you when snowboarding, particularly if you have not taken the necessary steps to prevent them. One of these is ankle sprains. Many ankle sprains are preventable. However, there are times they can still happen. You can do everything right from properly conditioning yourself to buying the best equipment and still have a bad landing that sprains one or both of your ankles.

As noted, the two most important ways to avoid ankle sprains when snowboarding are preparing your body and getting boots that enhance ankle support. Doing ankle-strengthening exercises to increase your range of motion will strengthen the various ligaments in your ankles so they can handle the extreme angle motions in snowboarding without becoming sprained. Even if this is not enough to avoid ankle sprains entirely, it will lessen your recovery time and require less rehabilitation. While you are doing ankle exercises, it is also a good idea to do a few knee strengthening exercise as knee injuries are also common when snowboarding.
