1.   Try a Pain Reliever. When you get a headache, you may benefit from taking an over-the-counter pain reliever. However, keep in mind that most of these medications take anywhere from one to two hours to kick in, so it’s best to take one the minute you feel a headache coming on. 

2.   Use Caffeine Carefully. Although caffeine may help you when you suffer from a headache, it’s extremely important that you don’t immediately turn to it for every headache. Otherwise, you may get headaches as a result of your body urging you to provide it with caffeine. 

3.   Drink Plenty of Water. Keep in mind that dehydration can lead to headaches. For this reason, make sure you’re hydrating yourself regularly throughout the day. And, if you ever start to develop a headache, drinking lots of water may lessen its severity.
